~ Accessories ~
Vincent does not carry many accessories, but here is a list of his known ones.
- Claw Gauntlet -
Vincent uses his gauntlet not only as a piece of armour,
but also as a deadly weapon.
His gauntlet has two major designs:
The first is the old one from Final Fantasy VII,
which looks a bit unwieldy compared to the new one.
This design is used in FFVII, Ehrgeiz and Before Crisis.
The new design, used in Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus, looks much more refined and flexible. Vincent can use his claw as a weapon in close combat as a part of the gameplay in DoC.
When Vincent transforms into Galian Beast (DoC) the gauntlet too changes it's appearance, it becomes darker and the claws sharper.
In his Chaos form (DoC) the gauntlet also looks a bit different, the pieces of armour grow and extra details are added to them.
- Cerberus Chain -
The silver chain featuring the hell hound pendant that is attached to Vincent's gun.
Even though his gun disappears at the end of Dirge of Cerberus, the pendant can be seen hanging amidst the ruins of Midgar in the ending movie.
Various jewelry featuring the Cerberus pendant can be bought from the
Square Enix online store.
- Mobile Phone -
After Vincent's meeting with Cloud and Marlene in Advent Children, he had to get a mobile phone. Though in Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII he complains to Cloud about Yuffie calling him too much and asks Cloud to tell Yuffie to stop.
The phone comes to much use in Dirge of Cerberus, where Vincent uses it to talk to his friends, view maps, etc.
The following has been said about Vincent getting
a phone in the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children
Reunion Files:
By director Tetsuya Nomura:
"By the way, do you remember the scene where
Vincent tells Marlene that he doesn't have a cell phone
by simply opening his cape? This was a last minute
thought that came to Ishii, the motion actor.
He was so proud of that sequence, he often said,
"I'm the first person in the world to imply that this
(opening his coat) meant that I didn't have a cell phone"
(laughs).
By scenario writer Kazushige Nojima:
"Vincent never felt like he needed a
phone until Cloud told him he'd get in touch
with him later. He doesn't like to bother with
things that he finds useless."
- Gun Holster -
In Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus, Vincent is wearing a black gun holster on his right side. The holster is fastened to his belt as well as around his right leg with three straps (and an additional strap that holds the other three in place).
- Ribbon -
In Advent Children, Vincent is wearing a ribbon around his right arm. The following has been said about it by director Tetsuya Nomura:
What's the meaning behind those ribbons
everybody is wearing?
Nomura: "In the first script, we realized that none of the companions ever talked about
Aerith. Someone suggested that if they're not going to say anything, they
should at least wear something that shows how they feel. So we had them wear a
ribbon as a way of saying that they haven't forgotten about Aerith."
Vincent and the others no longer wear the ribbons in Dirge of Cerberus.
- Shinra Pin -
The small pin with the Shinra emblem that Vincent used to wear as a part of his Turk uniform.
It can be purchased from the Square Enix online store.
- Protomateria/Ancient Materia -
A mysterious materia with the power to control Chaos. Created by the Planet and a part of Grimoire and Lucrecia's research. Was put inside Vincent's chest by Lucrecia after he had been fused with Chaos.
